It was believed that the young beetles emerged from the dung ball that the mother beetle had rolled with her legs. In ancient Egypt, the sacred pill turner was regarded as a protective and lucky charm. It was made thousands of times and in many different forms; size and inscription depended on the respective use. This is still the case today, the little beetle is still worn as a popular piece of jewellery. The classic good luck charm is a nice object to display in class or makes a good small gift. Each scarab is handmade, has hieroglyphic characters on its underside and is covered in faience, which gives it its turquoise hue.
