Cancer is an inconspicuous constellation formed by relatively faint stars. The brightest, Cancri, only reaches magnitude 3. The constellation is therefore somewhat difficult to spot. It is best found by following an imaginary line between the prominent constellations of Gemini and Leo. The stars of Cancer form an upside-down Y.
Cancer is one of the signs of the zodiac, i.e., those signs through which the ecliptic passes. The sun is in the constellation of Cancer every year from July 21st to August 10th. The constellation of Cancer can be seen on the Slovenian 50 euro cent coin.
