The Cassiopeia Constellation
Cassiopeia is a striking constellation in the northern sky and circumpolar for Central Europe, meaning it is a region of the sky visible there year-round. Cassiopeia's five main stars form a distinctive W or M in the sky, which is why it is also referred to as the celestial W or M. The apex in the middle of this star line points toward the North Star.The Cassiopeia region is very rich in stars, as the Milky Way stretches through the constellation. Several open star clusters can be observed here. For example, below the first "point" of the "W" is a double star cluster consisting of h Persei and Chi Persei.
Near the star β Cassiopeiae (Caph), the easternmost star, the line runs at 0° right ascension—the "prime meridian" of the sky.
