Nefertiti "Nafteta" pronounced, with maiden name Taduchepa, was married between the ages of 15 and 19 to the then 14-year-old Pharaoh Amenhotep IV. (Akhenaten). She was a beautiful and beguiling woman who lived in wealth at the Pharaoh's side and possessed absolute power. She bore him six daughters but no heir. It is assumed that she decisively guided the governmental activities.
Together with Akhna-ton, she implemented religious and cultural reforms. They gave full attention to a single god, the god Aton. The reason for Nefertiti's death as well as the time and place have never been fully clarified.
