Roman round mill game self-assembly kit
Round mill game (Mola Rotunda)
Suitable for school classes and groups.
The Roman round mill game is a game for two players with three white and three black stones each. The aim of the game, as with all mill variants, is to form a mill, i.e. to get your three own stones in a row.
The playing surface is a leather bag with eight positions on the edge and one in the middle of the wheel. The stones are placed in turn. Once this is done, the players move in turn, whereby a stone may only ever be moved to an unoccupied neighbouring square.
The winner of the game is the player who can form the mill, which must always contain the centre position. The players are forced to make a move, i.e. they cannot forego their own move.
For the player whose turn it is not, the aim must be to encircle the opponent in such a way that, for lack of alternative moves, he is forced to move his piece out of the middle position.
