Sagittarius is the southernmost constellation of the zodiac, located between Scorpio and Capricorn. Sagittarius' brightest stars form a shape reminiscent of a teapot. It is therefore often referred to as a "teapot."
Sagittarius lies in the most star-rich regions of the Milky Way; the galactic center is located in this direction. Therefore, Sagittarius contains a variety of nebulous objects, such as open star clusters, globular clusters, and gas nebulae.
The ecliptic passes through Sagittarius, so the sun, moon, and planets move through this constellation. The sun is currently in Sagittarius from December 18th to January 20th.
