Sun Dials 1 - AstroMedia - AstroMedia
These two solar timepieces are a wonderful introduction to the multifaceted world of sundials. Combined on just one cardboard sheet, Sundials I show solar time in different ways.
With luminous numerals and light spot
The digital sundial shows the time with luminous numerals. The numbers are projected onto the reading field via a curved dial. This makes this solar clock the little sister of the even more sophisticated large digital sundial.
In the equatorial sundial, on the other hand, a light spot shows the time of day and even the months. It gets its name from the position of the dial. It is parallel to the equatorial plane.
Both clocks are suitable for all Central European latitudes.
For teachers and pupils
The sundials I are both easy to build and are excellent teaching materials for secondary schools. Like all other astro materials, they can of course also be used for other group and project work on astronomy and physics.
