The Ferris wheel follows in the tradition of tin drive models that have found their way into the children's rooms of wealthy families since the end of the 19th century as accessories for toy steam engines, and is therefore an accessory to the steam engine and the Nitinol motor.
A Particularly Lightweight
To ensure that the Ferris wheel can be kept in motion by the rather modest power of the AstroMedia steam engine, it is designed to be particularly smooth-running and features a strong gear reduction of 15:1. This means that the impeller that rotates the Ferris wheel has a diameter 15 times larger than the drive wheel, which is attached to the steam engine's crankshaft.

The Ferris wheel's cabins can also transport small figures. It is important that the weight of the passengers in two opposite cabins is exactly the same.
