The Ferris Wheel - AsdtroMedia
It is in the tradition of the tin drive models that found their way into the children's rooms of wealthy families as accessories for toy steam engines from the end of the 19th century onwards and thus belongs to the accessories for the steam engine and Nitinol motor.
To keep the Ferris wheel moving from the rather modest power of the AstroDidaktik steam engine, it is designed to be particularly smooth-running and has a strong reduction ratio of 15:1, i.e. the impeller that turns the Ferris wheel has a diameter 15 times larger than the driving wheel that is attached to the crankshaft of the steam engine.
