The high line density of this grating produces a particularly broad light spectrum. The resulting image is similar to that of a prism, except that the latter is referred to as light refraction, while the latter is referred to as light diffraction. Each type of light produces its own characteristic spectrum when viewed or projected through the film with the grating. This allows important conclusions to be drawn about the nature of the light source.
With four slide frames for cutting out, this kit is ideal for your own experiments or teaching.
The slide is also available here without the slide frames in a larger sheet format, 15 x 30 cm.
