Black velour paper that absorbs light to the maximum and eliminates reflections - ideal for optical devices

The perfect solution against annoying light reflections

When it comes to absorbing light and creating reflection-free darkness, there is hardly anything better than our black velour paper (also known as velvet paper). The fine, deep black flocking on robust kraft paper ensures extremely high light absorption and almost completely prevents annoying reflections.

This is a decisive advantage for our telescopes in particular: internal reflections - i.e. light that is reflected undesirably within the telescope tube - can weaken the contrast and obscure details. Our velour paper eliminates this effect and ensures significantly improved image quality.

Easy to use for maximum effect

It is particularly practical for lining the tubes: a piece cut to the right size can simply be formed into a roll and inserted into the tube - even without gluing. The velour paper is also effective in other optical equipment, such as microscopes or spectroscopes. It is the ideal addition for anyone who wants to get the best out of their AstroMedia kits and effectively minimise disturbing stray light.

Product information "Velour paper, midnight black"
Scope of delivery:
1 sheet of velour paper, 0.2 mm, 130 g/m2, DIN A4, black
Properties: non-reflective, high light absorption, backing paper free from soluble sulphates and chlorides

Application:
This is how the velour paper can be used in the optical kits:

Telescopes: form a precisely cut piece of velour paper into a roll and insert into the tube - gluing is not always necessary. This prevents internal reflections and improves contrast.
Microscopes & spectroscopes: Line the inner surfaces of the housing or light paths with cut velour paper to minimise interfering reflections.
Other applications: Lens mounts or light sensitive areas can be lined with small pieces of velour paper to eliminate stray light.
