Product information "Papyrus Small Formats - Horus Eye"

Eye of Horus
This extremely beautiful motif adorns a bracelet made of gold, faience, carnelian and lapis lazuli and was found on the mummy of the pharaoh Sheshink II. The bracelet was placed on the arms of the king and was supposed to protect him and give him immortality. According to the Book of the Dead, the eye "udjat" was a powerful amulet.

The Eye of Horus is the left lunar eye of the god of light Horus, healed by Thoth, the god of magic and healing, after his adversary Seth, the god of darkness, had smashed it in battle. Instead of using it himself, Horus offered it to his father Osiris as a third eye. In doing so, he awakened a new consciousness in Osiris, the god of the dead, and brought light into the darkness of the underworld.

Therefore, this eye became a symbol for healing and completion, but is also a symbol for light, offerings, protection and perfection.
