Product information "Victory Parade of Ramses II."

Ramses II.
Ramses II, accompanied by a tame leopard and a soldier, stands in a chariot. He is thus leading a procession of prisoners of war taken in the "Land of Kush" (Sudan). The relief is in the great temple of Abu Simbel.

Ramses II, also called Ramses the Great 1303 - 1213 BC, was the third ancient Egyptian pharaoh from the 19th dynasty of the New Kingdom. He reigned for around 66 years from 1279 to 1213 BC, making him one of the longest reigning heads of state in the world. He is considered one of the most important rulers of Ancient Egypt. During his reign, Egypt experienced an economic and cultural flourishing that was never achieved under any pharaoh after him. Through his diplomatic actions, he succeeded in maintaining peace with his neighbouring peoples, including the Hittites, for almost fifty years.
