Product information "Papyrus Large-Size - The Golden Throne of Tut Anch Amun"

The golden throne of Tut Anch Amun
Tut-Anch-Amun's throne chair is one of the very few preserved throne chairs from this period (18th dynasty, 1332 - 13263 BC). One can well imagine the splendour that must have reigned in the palaces of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs.

The throne is made of gilded wood with inlays of gold, silver, semi-precious stones, faience and glass. The front of the backrest shows the king and his wife (sister) Anchesenamun in a flower pavilion, which is open at the top. Here Aton, the personified sun disk, hovers and sends her radiant hands to the couple; some bear the "Anch" sign and offer them the life-giving effect of sunlight.
The throne chair, richly decorated with motifs, was probably made for the coronation of the child king, or even before.
